MEDUSA MAAS
Sister Projects
MEDUSA MaaS is part of a group of Sister Projects funded under Horizon Europe and sharing a common vision: advancing innovative Manufacturing-as-a-Service approaches for a more digital, flexible, sustainable and competitive European manufacturing ecosystem.
These projects address complementary aspects of the MaaS concept, creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange and synergies.

REED
The REED Project primarily focuses on transforming the manufacturing of large and complex parts in the capital goods industry by creating an innovative Manufacturing as a Service (MaaS) platform. Specifically, this platform will connect manufacturers with enabling technologies, equipment, and services, thereby improving efficiency, precision, and sustainability in the production of bulky components.
Moreover, by redefining traditional supply chains into flexible and responsive value networks, REED promotes:
- Collaboration
- Increases Productivity
- Minimizes Enviromental Impact
All while ensuring the high-quality standards required in sectors like energy, transportation, and heavy machinery.
UniMaaS
UniMaaS is a Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action project focused on developing a digital platform for flexible, decentralised Manufacturing-as-a-Service. The platform aims to give European SMEs and industries access to customised manufacturing resources and service chains, supporting the full lifecycle of processes and products.
It will integrate data modelling, manufacturing resource modelling, and decision-making tools, using technologies such as cloud computing, digital twins and trustworthy AI. UniMaaS will be demonstrated through four pilots in aircraft maintenance, automotive seating, 3D construction printing, and logistics/warehouse management.
