MEDUSA – Manufacturing as a service framework exploiting decentralized secure
data exchange promoting sustainability and circularity-, funded by the
European Commission under the HORIZON Europe – Research
and Innovation Actions, sees Spindox Spa and Spindox Labs in the role of
coordinators.

Medusa description

The project, starting in October 2024 that will last a total of 42 months,
will develop an innovative framework that will facilitate secure and
traceable between companies, improving production efficiency and reducing cost and
environmental impact through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
In manufacturing, new paradigms have been studied in recent decades
to increase the flexibility of companies along their value chains by leveraging the
relationships with suppliers and customers. In this scenario, the traditional paradigms of
manufacturing have given way to the concept of Manufacturing as a Service
(MaaS), which enables manufacturing companies to access capacity and resources
manufacturing on demand, similar to how services such as
cloud computing.

The MEDUSA project was created with the goal of democratizing access to services
manufacturing across Europe, challenging the current dominance of the
large corporations that have the financial means to invest significantly
in the machines needed to start producing new products.

Budget

MEDUSA, with a total value of €6,925,179.74, sees the collaboration of 17 European partners from Italy,
Austria, Germany, France, Spain, Bulgaria, Latvia, and Sweden.
